Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQ

Is there commentary in my language?
Full commentary in English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean & Mandarin on the clear top convertible Hop-On, Hop-Off busses. Enjoy live commentary in English onboard the San Francisco-style Trolleys. Both bus types (clear top and trolley) will be travelling on all routes.
What do you mean by convertible clear-top buses?
We have installed clear roofs on our open-top buses to allow for stunning views when it’s raining. When the weather is sunny, the roofs come off! In the summer, there is no better way to see the city and park – looking up at the skyscrapers and giant cedars. We promise, you won’t forget it!
What do you mean by San Francisco-style Trolleys?
We have a fleet of trolley-style vehicles that travel the Hop-On, Hop-Off routes along with the convertible clear-top buses. Trolleys are also knows as Streetcars or tram. However in our case, our Trolleys have wheels and a gasoline engine instead of travelling on an electric rail system.
What is the bus frequency at each stop?
In the summer season, our scheduled frequency is every 20 minutes. In the winter season, our scheduled frequency is every 60 minutes. Schedule is subject to change without notice. For the latest information, please contact us at 604-451-1600.
Can I bring a baby stroller on the bus?
Space is limited and we are only able to accommodate collapsible strollers or wheelchairs. We ask that you collapse the equipment and secure it between the seats or at the back of the bus. Please hold your child safely on your lap while on the bus. Guests with collapsible wheelchairs will need to board the bus independently as we do not have a wheelchair lift on the bus.
How long do we spend at each stop?
We spend about 30 minutes at Shannon Falls and about 1.5 hours at the Sea to Sky Gondola. You will have approximately three hours of free time in the Whistler Village.
What can I do during my free time in Whistler Village?
Explore! The Whistler Village is home to many shops, restaurants, museums, and activities. Try an exhilarating sightseeing experience like the Spectacular Glacier Tour. Ask your Guide for recommendations to help you create your perfect day in Whistler.
Where is the Village?
The Village is located at the base of both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. The neighbourhood is divided into the Village, Village North and Upper Village. All the areas are connected by the paved, pedestrian-only Village Stroll.
What is the weather like in Whistler?
Whistler experiences cool, wet winters and dry, warm summers. The average daily low in Whistler Village is -5° C during most of the winter months. In the summer, temperatures reach an average daily high of 27° C.
How long is the gondola ride?
The gondola ride is 10 minutes to the top.
What is the elevation of the Summit Lodge?
The gondola climbs 850m to reach an elevation of 885m above Howe Sound.
Is the Sea to Sky Gondola wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Yes, the gondola cabins are wheelchair and stroller accessible. The Summit Lodge and viewing deck is also accessible (weather conditions permitting).
Are children allowed to travel by themselves?

No, at least 1 adult must book and travel with any children under the age of 12.

Do you allow pets on the bus?
With the exception of registered service dogs, no pets are allowed on board.
How do we pay for tours and attractions?

Gray Line Westcoast Sightseeing accepts payment with VISA, Mastercard and American Express. Direct Debit is currently not available.

Tickets purchased through WeChat or Alipay will not be accepted.

What does it mean to have a 48-Hour Pass?
To give you the most out of your Pass, we have based the service on the number of hours instead of the day. If you Hop-On at 3:00 pm on a Tuesday, your first 24 hours will be valid until that time the next day. Then you will have 72 hours to redeem the next 24 hour.
